Miss Penang Bon Odori 2026 Contest
The Miss Penang Bon Odori contest returns for its third edition in 2026, following successful runs in 2014 and 2019. The preliminary round will be held at Gurney Paragon Mall on June 20 from 2 pm to 6 pm, with the grand finale takes place on the evening of July 18 at the Esplanade alongside the main festival. Judging criteria cover yukata wearing, Japanese walking presentation, Bon Odori dances, cultural talent, and a Q&A on Japanese culture.
The winner takes home RM1,500 in cash plus a sash, crown, and trophy, while the second runner-up will be awarded RM700. Special awards for Miss Photogenic, Miss Talent, Miss Elegance, and Miss Popularity also up for grabs.
Fireworks
Cap off the night with a fireworks display at the end of the festival.
